One on Centre Apartments
Park7 Group, the developer for the One on Centre apartments, hired Massaro Corporation to build a mixed-use housing complex in the heart of the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh. The One on Centre is within walking distance to both the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon. Construction began in early summer of 2016 and had a 26 month construction schedule. The project was ready for the 2018-2019 school year.
The 17-story building allows for parking to be placed on the first six floors of the structure. The seventh floor hosts an outdoor swimming pool, gym, sauna, golf simulator, and a handful of many other amenities to entice future residents.
Floors eight to seventeen are a unique mixture of single, double, and triple rooms to house both students and young professionals that desire to live in the heart of Oakland.
During the lifecycle of the project Lean/Integrated project delivery techniques were incorporated including pull planning and colocation. Performing scheduling exercises on a white board and daily huddles are what controlled the schedule.
