City Theatre Renovations
The City Theatre hired Massaro Corporation to demo the majority of the existing Walter Long Production Shop and rebuild a new facility now named the Philip Chosky Production Center.
The 8,500 square foot, two story structure is located on Bingham Street. In addition to a dedicated painting area and a new freight elevator to facilitate moving sets up to the second-floor stage area, it now has more space to construct sets for other production companies around Pittsburgh.
Two existing exterior CMU walls had to remain as well as structural roof trusses because they were attached to the neighboring row houses. Reinforcing and stabilizing these shared walls was a critical task.
