Carr Hall was originally constructed in 1963, and is currently home to the Environmental Science and Physics Departments. Within the building, the existing auditorium was transformed into two floors of classrooms and instructional spaces.
Additionally, the renovation of the entry lobby and adjacent patio provides a grand entrance to the building. The project is LEED Gold CI (commercial interiors) certified.
Sustainable Features Include:
In renovated spaces - upgrades to include new environmentally friendly finishes and energy efficient HVAC systems. Finishes to include FSC certified woods and low VOC materials with recycled content.
Existing rest room fixtures were replaced with water efficient fixtures. Over 40 new solar tube and standard skylights were installed to provide day lighting to upper level. The new lobby has interior landscaping and ponds as well as an 'Aquaponics' display maintained by the Environmental Science Dept.
