Carnegie Library - Allegheny Branch
Massaro Corporation was selected by the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh to build a new 15,000 square foot library on the North Side of Pittsburgh.
The project was a challenge in this congested urban area. Throughout the library there are reading rooms, a children's area with programming and creative work space, a vestibule, lounge, offices/administration spaces, and a public computer area. Some construction features include polished concrete floors, mini sky-cone light fixtures, soy-foam insulation, exterior cedar screen walls, dry-pipe fire protection, and stone veneer intricate millwork.
